Abstract

Universal interventions that are easily implemented with fidelity in the school setting can be an effective approach to building key social emotional skills for all students. This study examined teachers’ fidelity implementing Tools for Getting Along (TFGA), a universal curriculum focused on social problem-solving, and how fidelity predicted student outcomes in the spring. Teachers delivered the TFGA curriculum to their students with a high level of fidelity. Percentage of lessons completed and lesson quality positively predicted several student outcomes, such as engaging in a more adaptive problem-solving style, but negatively predicted student anger. This study demonstrates that teachers can implement TFGA effectively and that implementation fidelity is related to some student skills.
