This study investigates how teachers' experience and professional learning relates to student achievement in a dual-enrollment program called OnRamps created by the University of Texas at Austin, which enrolls more than 30,000 students annually in 13 dual-enrollment courses. Using a sample of more than 65,000 student enrollments and 1,000 teachers over a three-year period, the results show teachers' experience teaching OnRamps courses is significantly related to their students' performance in those courses, controlling for a range of student and teacher characteristics. Teachers themselves report increasing their pedagogical content knowledge, growth mindset beliefs, and feelings of community through their experience in OnRamps. The study provides evidence that professional learning experiences can be linked quantitatively with improved student achievement in dual-enrollment.
