Learning with Kulin (Australian Indigenous territory) seasons is an inquiry informed by the concept of “place as a pedagogical contact zone" (Author, 2018; Common Worlds Research Collective, 2016) and underpins the idea that places are always in a state of entanglement of human and more-than-human others. This collaborative inquiry documents the changes to plants, animals and waterways through the cycle of Kulin seasons as a way to respectfully foreground local Indigneous worldviews. Attending to relations (not exclusively human ones) with place and circular ways of knowing (Martin, 2016) that are always present in ordinary moments serve as powerful provocations to generate teaching and learning with place, not just about places generating practices for hopeful climate futures and the public good.
