Otherfathering is connected to the practice of fathering, in that men are providing holistic care, support, parenting, modeling and life coaching to individuals. While research exists about Black otherfathering in K-12 educational settings, there is little counseling research about the otherfathering roles that Black men assume in their communities and how Black otherfathering influences their mental health and wellbeing.
