This paper explores the impact of Participatory Action Research, student voice, self efficacy, and Linked Learning. The collaboration between school districts and business is paramount for the success of communities. Yet, employers often cite the scarcity of workers, especially minority workers, as a reason for the limited pool from which to recruit and retain high quality employees for the science and technology industry. Experiential learning and internships opportunities in schools can benefit employers by creating alternative career pipelines to help diversify a community's workforce. Alternatively, school districts benefit from students participating in meaningful learning opportunities and more importantly, students benefit from exposure to a variety of career options before they graduate from high school.
