Access to the Baccalaureate: Predictors of Vertical Transfer for Career and Technical Education Associate Degrees

Mon, April 20, 2:15 to 3:45pm, Virtual Room

Abstract

Associate degrees in areas of career and technical education were not originally designed for transfer to a four-year institution. Yet, research has shown that students pursuing the Associate in Applied Science (AAS) are equally as likely to pursue transfer as their Associate in Arts and Associate in Science counterparts. This study investigates student-level and institutional-level predictors of AAS transfer using a multilevel model, while examining the variability of AAS transfer by program major.
