Teacher educators should provide pre-service teachers with experiences that support their ability to integrate technology into their instruction. One approach is to have pre-service teachers use the Technology Integration Planning Cycle (TIPC). The following question guided the study: How does supporting PSTs to use the TIPC in a literacy methods course influence PSTs’ literacy lesson planning in class? Participants were pre-service teachers (n= 13) at a regional university in the Midwest. Data sources included lesson plans, written reflections, field notes, and two recorded think alouds of instructional planning. Results indicated that pre-service teachers planned their instruction in a recursive manner, often revisiting, and refining, their previous pedagogical decisions, but lacked confidence in their decisions. Implications are discussed.
