When Superintendents Collaborate: Harnessing the Power of Collective Inquiry for School District Leaders

Abstract

This paper describes a unique, innovative and research-based professional learning model for school district superintendents, currently underway in California, as well as the initial results in the program’s third year (2018-19); an active, University-led superintendents’ network. The program evaluation indicates program efficacy and ways for top level education professionals to develop increased leadership capacity, deeper inquiry and improved professional cultures in school districts and schools through engaging in University-led, collaborative, cohort-based collegial work.
