Government-Sponsored Versus Self-Supporting Students: Comparing Their Experience in Kenyan Universities

Abstract

The loss of government support for higher education has resulted in placing the burden for funding their education on students and their families. This comparative study between the US and Kenyan universities focused on the difference between government-sponsored and self-supporting students in Kenyan universities. Qualitative interviews focused on the student experience at two universities, one public and one private.
