Development of School Climate Survey–Short Form

Abstract

This study is trying to provide psychometric properties of one developing instrument-School Climate Survey-Short Form. The current sample included 635 secondary grades students’ responses on 19 items selected from ED School Climate Surveys (EDSCLS)-Student survey. Data analysis included exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, and item response theory (e.g., graded response model). After inspection, two items were removed due to low factor loading. The remaining 17 items demonstrated acceptable item discrimination and item information for three corresponding factors. Also, the significance of the study was discussed.
