Teacher's Pet: Effects of a Therapy Dog on Elementary Students' Literacy Attitudes and Skills

Abstract

There is very little research on the use of dog-assisted reading programs in younger grades. This paper will share results of a mixed-method study of the effects of a dog-assisted literacy program on students’ attitudes toward reading and their reading achievement.
