A salient understanding of how leadership teams navigate change is needed to manifest change narratives and support a deeper knowledge of how change occurs. A total of 131 school leaders from 19 elementary and middle schools at 8 independent school districts (ISDs) across Texas took part in this research and the preliminary findings indicate that emergent themes consist of technical jargon and buzzwords or phrases used by educators, state academic ratings for schools and STAAR (State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness) scores, issues that leadership teams encountered throughout the changes being made to campus’, and developing plans for those leadership teams.
