Traditionally, as PhD candidates have sought faculty appointments within institutions higher education, many have lamented feeling underprepared to engage faculty search panels in detailed discussions about courses that their doctoral research uniquely qualifies them to design and teach. This research project engaged a cohort of PhD candidates at the large research institution in California through a spring 2018 workshop entitled, “Marketing Your Unique Teaching Potential: Developing Relevant Course Offerings from Your Doctoral Research.” Through this resource, participants gain access to insights and exercises designed to strengthen their ability to develop and propose relevant course offerings from their doctoral studies and dissertation research.
