This study aims to provide a systematic review with meta-analysis of empirical research published between 1981 and June 2019 in which technology-aided instruction (TAI) is used to facilitate mathematics word problem-solving ability of elementary and secondary school students with learning difficulties in mathematics. This study examined a total of 14 studies by calculating effect sizes of the TAI used in each study. The average effect size of 14 studies was g = 0.70 ranging from 0.02 to 2.35 based on the random-effects model. Regarding the generalization effect of TAI, the average effect size was g = 0.42 ranging from 0.05 to 1.26.
