Initial Examination of Roles in Online Meetups in a Global Collaborative STEM-Focused, Digital Makerspace Community

Abstract

This poster examines the roles that take place during online meet-ups in a global, collaborative, STEM-
focused digital makerspace community. Epistemic network analysis (ENA) is used to demonstrate that the
roles participants take on are distinct from and complement one another, and provide insight on how roles
in a meet-up can transcend geographic boundaries and differences to enhance sociability in a CSCL
environment.
