Abstract

Kamehameha Schools Community Engagement and Resources is committed to high expectations of schools and land based community partners. Several areas of need were identified and projects have been prioritized for action. ‘Ai Pono School Lunch Program has connected a variety of community partners towards one aligned effort of implementing a farm-to-table school lunch program. Mission Aligned Master Planning Facilities initiative assists the three HFCS with mission aligned facilities planning. The ‘Āina based Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment project documents common curricula and assessments across the three HFCS utilizing the HFCS Culturally Relevant Assessment (CRA) Framework. A ʻĀina based Mobile Science Mobile Lab provides learners and teachers with contemporary science equipment built on a foundation of Native Hawaiian epistemology.
