Mentoring Across the Early Childhood/Child Development Field

Abstract

This workshop will focus on mentoring, networking, and collaboration with various researchers represented in the early education/child development field. The presenters will solicit input from the EE/CD SIG membership regarding questions and topics to address as well as share short vignettes from their own professional experiences as a way to launch the workshop. We foresee issues of research, teaching, and service to be of interest, as well as broader issues of gender and race in higher education; we will share and generate ideas and resources surrounding these issues. The interactive nature of the session is to support graduate students, junior faculty, and senior faculty who are considering promotion and who are interested in dialog regarding their careers
