This symposium provides an in-depth examination of the trajectories of pre- and in-service Black male teachers. Moreover, this session will pull together cutting-edge research from senior, mid-career, and emerging scholars who are experts on Black male teachers. Presenter topics range from examining university research programs for Black male pre-service teachers to investigating the best recruitment and retention practices for Black males in K-12 school districts and teacher programs. The session will provide actionable takeaways for teacher education researchers and K-12 leaders on successful strategies to recruit, support, and retain Black male teachers.
