Crossing the U.S.-Mexico Border for an Education: Portrayals of Complexity and Intersectionality Among Transfronterizx Students

Abstract
This session is a contribution to the wider educational literature on Latinx transnational students. Specifically, this session explores multiple social, cultural, and political dimensions of routine border crossing amongst transfronterzix students, a sub-group of transnational students, who engage in every day, authorized US-Mexico border crossing to pursue an education. Based on narrative analysis (Chase, 2010) of three phenomenological life history interviews (Seidman, 2013) with 10 transfronterizx participants, papers in this session contribute informed portrayals of the actual, lived and diverse experiences of students who cross the US-Mexico border on a routine basis to pursue an education.
