Transforming Comprehensive High Schools Into Early Colleges

Abstract
This session synthesizes results from evaluations of four large-scale efforts to redesign comprehensive high schools to implement strategies from the proven, small school Early College Model. The four studies each used a mixed-methods, quasi-experimental design to examine the implementation and impact of the model. Papers in the symposium will focus on: 1) the model and the different contexts in which it was implemented; 2) the impact findings; 3) ways in which the model was implemented in schools and 3) supports necessary to implement the model.
