Responding to the Shifting Features of Racism: Intersectional Extensions of Critical Race Theory

Abstract

Acknowledging the shifting landscape of U.S. racism and its intersections with other forms of oppression, this panel brings together four papers from K-16+ research that build upon the legacy of CRT and other critical traditions. These papers, diverse in their scope, extend and sharpen our analysis of racialized marginality through the lens of religion, dis/ability, gender, language, & citizenship. By bringing together an interdisciplinary panel of CRT in Education research, we can more clearly theorize the intersectional oppression that people of Color face within educational institutions and better consider the possibilities of racial justice.
