Tue, April 21, 8:15 to 9:45am, Virtual Room

Session Type: Structured Poster Session

Abstract

“Computer Science for All” brings an incredible opportunity for broadening participation in computing and ensuring that all learners learn new age skills like programming. As evidenced in this structured poster session, researchers have answered this call with diverse approaches that leverage prior research in STEM education and the learning sciences to address issues of gender, motivation, community, language, culture, integration with subjects, and deeper conceptual learning. The posters in this session showcase a rich palette of pedagogies across the K-12 spectrum that also leverage partnerships with various stakeholders. The session serves to celebrate the progress and plurality of pedagogies and partnerships in K-12 CS education research while also highlighting challenges, lessons learned, and gaps to be addressed in future research.
