Session Type: Symposium
This session brings together organizational leaders, boundary spanners, and education researchers who are advancing the field of education policy knowledge mobilization in their own contexts. This symposium purposefully builds connections between four key stakeholders in the K-12 education policy network to look at data-sharing needs, realities and historical challenges for policy stakeholders in Ontario, Canada (Ball, 2016; Howlett, 2009; Winton and Brewer, 2014). The discussion centres around how knowledge mobilization and data processes allow stakeholders to work across organizations towards policy enactment, advocacy, and development. It focusses specifically on data because of the ways they are used as tools of governance, accountability, and ultimately power, in education policy (Hansen, 2008; Lingard, Martino, and Rezai-Rashti, 2013; Ozga, 2009).
