Making Sense out of Recent Mixed Results From Private School Voucher Evaluations

Abstract
Private school vouchers remain a controversial element of market-based education reforms. Recent experimental and quasi-experimental evaluations of different voucher programs on various student populations have reported decidedly mixed results. Most test score findings have been negative while most results regarding educational attainment have been positive. This symposium will feature four of those studies, presented and discussed by several prominent school choice scholars, with the goal of better understanding who is and is not helped by school vouchers, in what ways and why.
