Collective Reimaginings: Women of Color Storying and Transforming Teacher Education

Abstract
This panel brings together Women of Color teacher educators taking up feminist and humanizing pedagogies with preservice teachers of color across our respective institutions, within and across the field of Literacy Education. Building on feminist of color theories that center experience, relationships, and identity as sources of resistant and transformative knowledge, the projects described in these papers center the coalitional literacies, pedagogies of the home, educacion, and multilingualism of preservice teachers of color. These literacy practices and pedagogies are foundational to the work of examining the self, systems of oppression, and theories of change for preservice teachers engaging anti-racist work.
