Session Type: Symposium
In response to the 2020 AERA Annual Meeting theme, we propose a symposium to present and invite discussion of a new collaboration between fifteen leading institutions of higher education, their partner p-12 schools and districts, and educational policymakers, to catalyze and sustain change in educator preparation on a national scale. We will present the core principles upon which the network has coalesced, the theory of change we are pursuing, and examples of cross-institutional and intra-institutional collaboration and inquiry. To engage the audience in a town hall discussion, we pose three questions to interrogate the dilemmas the field of educator preparation faces in building a national movement to prepare excellent teachers and leaders for every child.
