Session Summary

"Bout That Action": Community-Engaged Research and the Radical Imagination in Education

Fri, April 17, 12:00 to 1:30pm, Virtual Room

Session Type: Symposium

Abstract

The session will convene around the theme of “Community-Engaged Research and the Radical Imagination in Education.” Each participant will present papers examining how they incorporated a radical imagination into or became radicalized through community-engaged research, methods, data collection, and/or sharing findings. The goal is to understand how our different community-engaged studies both help to critique power in spaces/systems of education and at the same time push us to do a radical re-imagining of research, education, and the human condition. More importantly, presenters will reflect on how their community-engaged research approach connects to the action or praxis of social change.
