Session Summary

What Does Decolonizing Education Look Like in Asian American Spaces?

Tue, April 21, 8:15 to 9:45am, Virtual Room

Session Type: Symposium

Abstract

The objective of this symposium is to explore the process and impact of decolonizing educational experiences in Asian American spaces, specifically for Pilipinx doctoral students. While this symposium encourages reflection and interrogation of colonial mentality within the larger Asian American experience, the scholars in this session will share their work on the experiences of Pilipinx students as a way to dialogue with doctoral students, doctoral students of color, and faculty committed to decolonizing methodologies and pedagogy.
