The Power and Possibilities of Research Practice Partnerships and Community Research Collaboratives for Advancing Education Equity

Abstract
Research-practice partnerships (RPPs) and community research collaboratives (CRCs) are two similar but unique strategies that researchers use to collaboratively advance education equity with other stakeholders. RPPs are widely recognized in the field of education as a productive method of inquiry for improving learning environments. CRCs are reimagining the roles of families and community partners in knowledge production, policy creation, and design of spaces for learning and engagement. Together, these two research approaches constitute an exciting future for public scholarship in education research, where inclusiveness and attention to equity and justice are at the foreground. In this session, researchers and other leaders will discuss how these collaborative approaches are using research to promote a more just and equitable system of education.
