Session Type: Symposium
Under the current state of race politics in the United States, there has been a growing counter development to the division that has consumed news headlines. However, while the demand for multiracial coalitions and a response these divisions has increased, little research has been conducted to understand the contemporary politics of unity and coalition-building for racial justice in education. Thus, this symposium aims to providing multiple research-based perspectives with the implication to enhance new knowledge around coalitions for racial justice and advocacy in education. Moreover, this symposium provides considerations for how such spaces should be theorized across research, practices, and policies for racial justice in education across all communities.
