Reimagining College Access, Culture, and Power Through the Pre-K–16 Pipeline for Latina/o/x Students

Abstract
The education of Latino/a/x students represents a critical issues for the economic well-being of the nation. Despite recent gains in college access and achievement, gaps remain compared to other ethnic groups, part of this can be attributed to traditional ways of viewing college access that center power and knowledge around schools. The paper in this session begin to reframe how college knowledge is developed and power that parents, community and culture can have in empowering Latina/o/x students. Recommendations for policy and practices are provided.
