Session Summary

Constructivist Theory, Research, and Practice: Perspectives and Insights From Preschool Through Adulthood

Sun, April 19, 12:25 to 1:55pm, Virtual Room

Session Type: Paper Session

Abstract

This set of papers takes us from preschool to adulthood through research and analysis grounded in various constructivist frameworks. While the papers represent a wide set of research traditions, each paper employs a constructivist approach as an analytical lens and/or as a practice. Taken together, the papers invite us to expand, clarify, or reconsider the construction of school and professional knowledge in text interactions between preschoolers and teachers, zone of proximal development in on-line gaming environments, relevance in teaching, post-high school experiences, and professional development.
