Abstract

Problem centered pedagogies like problem-based learning (PBL) have consistently presented challenges for adoption in K-12 classrooms. This session explores research looking to support classroom teachers and pre-service teachers in various contexts. Examples include authentic assessment, looking at combinations of pedagogies like project and problem-based learning, examinations of important PBL processes as evidenced in student discussions, or facilitation through the lens of teacher characteristics or challenges and motivations to adopting and facilitating PBL in the classroom.
