Session Type: Invited Speaker Session
Building and maintaining partnerships between researchers and organizational stakeholders has the potential to not only strengthen the researcher’s agenda, but also provide immediate and long-term benefits to the organization and contribute to the public good. Although collaborations are vital to engaging in community-engaged research, graduate students are rarely taught how to initiate and develop these partnerships. Panelists will discuss how they collaborate with organizational stakeholders to engage in meaningful research that benefits organizations and the public good. Panelists will discuss their successes and challenges, and provide suggestions for how graduate students and early career faculty can balance their research goals with the wants and needs of organization stakeholders.
