Abstract

This session commemorates Dr. Wilbert J. (Bill) McKeachie’s life and legacy. Dr. McKeachie pioneered theory and research on the nature of teaching and learning, examined student test anxiety, individual differences among students, gender differences, and students’ feeling about teaching and their teachers, and was a forerunner on research on motivation, self-regulated learning, and teaching effectiveness. He published over 30 books or monographs, 122 book chapters, and more than 200 articles. Each panelist will share with the audience their experiences with Dr. McKeachie, his impact on their research, teaching, and careers, and what they learned from him. This forum will provide opportunities at the end for audience members to contribute.
