Session Summary

Research in Practice to Improve Pre-K–3 Math Learning

Sat, April 18, 8:15 to 9:45am, Virtual Room

Session Type: Invited Speaker Session

Abstract

In this session researchers and practitioners will share their experiences collaborating on three projects designed to support coherent and effective math instruction in preschool through the early elementary grades. One of the projects examines the ways in which district policies affect classroom instruction and children’s learning, as they are filtered through school level policies and practices. The second project involved the development and testing of resources to support teacher educators preparing and coaching teachers. The third examines strategies for simultaneously supporting math learning and executive functions. All of the projects involve administrators, practitioners, and researchers working in partnership.
