This study aimed to investigate the relationship between workplace well-being and mental well-being in public school teachers utilizing the Workplace PERMA Profiler and the Warwick-Edinburgh Mental Wellbeing Scale (WEMWBS). This study adopted Seligman’s (2011) multidimensional PERMA model of flourishing, in which well-being is defined in terms of five factors: positive emotion, engagement, relationships, meaning, and accomplishment. A total of 1,573 public school teachers in the United States participated in this study. Overall workplace well-being significantly predicted mental well-being. In addition, three factors (positive emotion, relationships, and accomplishment) significantly predicted mental well-being. The finding that workplace well-being significantly predicts mental well-being has important policy implications for public schools.
