Abstract

This paper is drawn from a set of qualitative interviews and observations with practicing social studies teachers who teach a senior level (12th grade) United States government/civics course at a number of secondary school sites in a major metropolitan area of the United States, as they grapple with what it means to teach about religion in their United States government classrooms.
