During this time of social distancing and school closures amid COVID-19, it is important to explore potential factors that affect the experiences of students and academic achievement. This is a timely study providing preliminary evidence on the item-level psychometric properties of the newly developed measures of anxiety in learning English and perceived social support amid COVID-19. The results demonstrated promising measurement properties, such as good reliability, undimensionality, and measurement invariance. The results also provided useful information to further improve the scales. Findings from this study provided critical and timely information of the new instruments that researchers can adopt or adapt for their own research.
