This project is designed as a direct response to Love’s (2020a) call that “we cannot go back to the way things were” and thinking about how temporal storytelling within an online teacher professional development course might offer a lever of change for transforming teacher practice. As is argued across research on transforming practice (e.g. Clandinin & Connelly, 2000), “it is the integration of a new sense of self that supports transformational change in one’s teaching practice” (Utt & Tulchock, 2020, p. 147). In this spirit, rather than a traditional professional development focused on strategy development and building teachers’ toolboxes, this project, grounded in radical dreaming will engage in rethinking teacher professional development to consider how future-thinking might impact present practice.
