We're Not Ready to Learn: Being Responsive to the Needs of Students Post-COVID-19

Thu, April 8, 3:00 to 4:00pm EDT (3:00 to 4:00pm EDT), Division C, Division C - Section 3a: Learning Environments Roundtable Sessions

Abstract

This study uses a qualitative approach to examine the feelings and impacts of COVID19 on 269 parents, or caregivers and their school-age or college attending children. The purpose of this study was to focus on the impacts COVID19 had on students and families, and to think about how to be responsive to the needs in the upcoming school years. Findings suggest that although parents feel hopeful, there have been short-term negative outcomes on the health and well-being of both students and their families.
