The Collective Memories of Women Developing and Implementing a Doctoral Program in Educational Leadership

Sun, April 11, 2:30 to 4:00pm EDT (2:30 to 4:00pm EDT), SIG Sessions, SIG-Leadership for Social Justice Paper and Symposium Sessions

Abstract

This paper explores the stories of four women working collaboratively to share their recollections about their challenges as faculty leaders in different roles in the development and implementation of a doctoral leadership program (EdD). We use Memory-Work (MW) to story our experiences over the course of the first 10 years of the program. MW allowed us to trace our professional identity development in the EdD program and reflect on our pedagogy as doctoral faculty and women (Cornforth et al, 2009).
