Assessing the Civic Performance of Schools of Choice

Abstract

We utilized NAEP Civics results to compare of Grade 8 2006, 2010, and 2014 Civics results to assess the civic performance of schools of choice (i.e. charters and private schools). Black and Hispanic civic performance in schools of choice were higher than their peers at traditional public schools.
