Our essay examines the American social hierarchy, class relations of alienation, especially those relating to schooling. We describe social structures as ideological state apparatuses inherent to education grounding our argument in manifestations of power/structure, ideological distinctions that rule, norm, and define social class. We provide a taxonomy of the ideological stasis through which teachers, students and participants of schooling undergo as they enter into a master slave relationships. We map the stages of becoming with educational stakeholders, to present the nature of control and the dialectical tensions that exist in the schooling context. Educators, students and community members live difference as they assert alternatives to the ideological power structure.
