Though there are many instances of mindfulness being implemented at the coping level for students and teachers at their differing levels of responsibilities and duties, there are relatively few studies of its use with educational leaders, such as administrators and school district superintendents. Not enough attention is being paid to those in this situation, and such lack has reduced motivation and satisfaction in their working and personal lives. Given this situation, the purpose of the proposed study is to better understand mindfulness as a framework for supporting school leadership, how personal mindfulness influences leadership, self-care and the challenges experienced implementing mindfulness in school administration.
