Three School Visions, Three Different Outcomes: The Importance of Action in School Vision

Sat, April 10, 9:30 to 10:30am EDT (9:30 to 10:30am EDT), SIG Sessions, SIG-School Community, Climate, and Culture Roundtable Sessions

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to empirically identify and compare components of administrator vision in three different head administrators’ tenures. By employing interviews from both administrators and teachers, we explored the degree of alignment between each administrator’s vision and teachers’ perceptions of the enactment of the vision. These findings provide a rare example school vision in practice and have implications for administrator training and support.
