First-year students that fall on to academic probation are at risk for leaving college before graduating. This study sought to elicit individual needs from participants through an intake survey to a success course. The intake survey was created based on literature review, provided in the manuscript. The participant’s results were used to predict mid-term grades. A significant finding was that participants whom indicated time management as a possible barrier for their academic success performed better in classes compared to those that did not report time management as a barrier. Interpretation of findings and implications for future research is provided.
