In this study, we explored undergraduate engineering students’ experiences with college-level academic programs and support services. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between engineering students’ race or gender and student-support practices utilizing Lee and Matusovich’s model of co-curricular support (MCCS). The data sample consisted of student responses from the college’s spring 2019 annual SPART survey. The SPART survey and MCCS’ short term outcomes were used to derive a MIMIC structural equation model. Our analyses found that gendered and racial differences in levels of satisfaction regarding academic, college, social, and professional support systems. Our findings contribute to bridging the gap between research and practice around student support initiatives for minoritized engineering students.
