Turning Peace Research Into Online Educational Practice

Mon, April 12, 2:50 to 4:20pm EDT (2:50 to 4:20pm EDT), SIG Sessions, SIG-Peace Education Paper and Symposium Sessions

Abstract

This proposal builds upon the peace education and anti-harassment, intimidation, bullying and teasing [HIBT] research of AU-1, AU-3, Shore, and Kamara, as reported in 2 books and several refereed journal articles. The research details the introduction, utilization and assessment of evidence-based bullying-prevention initiatives and peace education strategies in early childhood, elementary and secondary education classrooms in two countries with multiple cultures, races and religions, speaking three languages. AU-2 is piloting the use of these materials and strategies in online formats with pre-school and kindergarten students.
