It Comes With Experience: A Self-Study of a Preservice Teacher's Self-Efficacy With Teaching Literacy

Pre-service teachers are faced with many challenges during their student teaching. This paper questions how self-efficacy is influenced in the secondary English pre-service teaching environment. The researcher utilizes the reflective turn to examine lived experiences from personal pre-service teaching and draws upon literature of pre-service teacher’s self-efficacy surrounding pedagogy. The researcher reviews commonalities between the literature and personal histories that highlight three themes regarding pre-service teacher self-efficacy of literacy pedagogy.
